The yak ox live on the Tibetan plateau and are adapted to the extreme conditions of their environment, and that reflect in all qualities that our soft and warm yak knits have.
Yak wool is up to 30 times warmer than sheep's wool, and more resistant and sustainable than cashmere.
Yak lose the down in the spring when molting, which clings to the bushes of pastures and is then being “harvested” or “handpicked”. This method is more ecological than the classic mowing of animals. The Tibetan climate does not allow the animal to secrete fat and as a result, yak wool does not require chemical scouring treatments.
